darlin

The aim of the darlin project is to compile, make accessible and create a permanent archive of Dutch publications on Library and Information Science. In concrete terms, this is taking shape through the setting up of a so-called Repository that will include as many publications as possible – preferably all of them – that have already been published elsewhere.
In addition, darlin will set up an electronic journal for new publications in this field.
The project's initiator is the Netherlands Association of Professionals (NVB) in the library, information and knowledge sector.

Other partners in the project are:

• Utrecht University Library, more specifically, Igitur, Utrecht Publishing and Archiving Services; Igitur is acting as service provider
• the Archive and Information Science Group of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Amsterdam, which is acting as scientific consultant
• the Institute for Media and Information Management (MIM) at the Hogeschool Amsterdam, which is acting as consultant on educational aspects.

darlin is subsidised by SURF within the framework of the DARE project. One of darlin's additional objectives is to gain experience setting up a subject repository with cooperation between a professional association, a scientific institute and a vocational course.
