Copyright Agreement DARLIN Journal
(download the text below in a pdf here.)
1. Authors of accepted article(s) assign to DARLIN Journal the right to publish, disseminate and distribute their text electronically
and to archive it permanently for electronic retrieval.
2. Authors retain the copyright of the article. After it has appeared in DARLIN Journal authors may republish their text in any way they wish (electronic or print) as long as they clearly acknowledge DARLIN Journal as its original publisher with the correct citation details and copyright notice, independent of whether the article is used in whole or in part. The citation details and copyright notice shall also be included in case of permitted usage under these provisions by third parties.
Citation details:
Customary bibliographic citation, including author name(s), volume number and date of publication, article title, DARLIN Journal,
and the URL
Copyright notice:
“Readers are reminded that this work is protected by copyright. While they are free to use the ideas expressed in it, they
are not allowed to copy, publish, distribute or disseminate the work or part of it, in any form, printed, electronic or otherwise,
except for reasonable quoting, clearly indicating the source. Readers are permitted to make copies, electronic or printed,
for noncommercial use, particularly personal or classroom use”.
3. DARLIN Journal may change both the layout and technical form of the article from that in which it is offered to ensure consistency and readability. Under no circumstance the content of the article will be altered.
4. The author warrants to DARLIN Journal that the article is original, does not infringe any existing copyright, and does not infringe any other rights of any third party. This warrant concerns the entire manuscript, text as well as pictures, sound, video, data sets, etc. The author also warrants to DARLIN Journal that he/she has full authority to enter into this agreement and that the rights he/she is granting to DARLIN Journal are granted without breaching any obligations he/she may have.
5. DARLIN Journal does not accept material that has already been published elsewhere. However, DARLIN Journal does accept some papers that have been published as abstracts or have been partially reported by the media at scientific meetings, and some that have already appeared in foreign language journals. Previous publication in electronic form, known as preprint or eprint, may also be acceptable. In all these cases authors must inform DARLIN Journal of previous publication and supply DARLIN Journal with copies of such previous versions. DARLIN Journal will then decide whether publication in DARLIN Journal will add usefully to the literature or whether it will just add redundant material. Publication is considered redundant if the article overlaps by more than 10% with previously published work, or work submitted elsewhere, as decided by DARLIN Journal.
6. DARLIN Journal encourages and appreciates links in other Web pages to DARLIN Journal web pages. For this reason, permission is expressly granted to any person who wishes to place a link in his or her own Web page to DARLIN's homepage www.nvb-darlin.nl.
